The world of work changes rapidly and consequently also the skills required by organisations. To understand what skills it is useful to bet on it is good to know the trends of employment worldwide.
According to the latest analysis of World Economic Forum (WEF), «The Future of Jobs», the fastest growing roles in terms of demands are those related to technology, digitisation and sustainability.
From the report of WEF we read a very important step: "Our analysis suggests that 69 million jobs will be created and 83 million will be destroyed, which will lead to a reduction of 14 million jobs in the next five years”.
So let's discover the transversal skills (or soft skills) more sought today (and in the short future) by companies.
- Creative thinking:
Imagination, creativity and intuition: creative thinking is one soft skill crucial because it can generate Innovation. Unfortunately, this capacity is still undervalued by many organisations today. In the WEF report we read that only 46% of companies encourage creative thinking. However, the evolution of the market gives us all the conditions to imagine that within a few years companies will change course on this line of thought, reconsidering it more.
-Tech literacy:
Digital literacy is the ability to identify, understand, use and create information using computer technologies. The difficulty lies in cultivating knowledge digital with a view to continuous learning. A vital theme for companies and employees, since in the short future artificial intelligence will have a key role to play within organisations and it will be necessary to have at home the staff able to use and integrate them in their duties, in order to have a competitive advantage on the market.
-Analytical thinking:
It is appreciated because it unpacks ideas and compares them, exploring their causes and effects, and then finding a simple solution to complex problems. Analytical thinking, in fact, develops regardless of the school or university that the person attended: the ability to pragmatically analyse a given topic is a skill that is refined over time and that is perfected mainly thanks to the experience on the ground. An articulated system such as today’s requires more and more a modus operandi able to go straight to the point and for this reason the organizations want to hire people who reason in function of reduction of entropy. The organized and versatile minds that operate following the famous motto that has always distinguished us from Ambire Benefit Society, that is "the best is the enemy of good”.
-Gentileness, empathy and active listening:
The company culture of Ambire Benefit Society is based on the following values: sustainability, inclusion, innovation and kindness. And it is kindness that encloses in itself a whole series of features that distinguish our management and the way we train that of customer organizations. Knowing how to listen, the will to understand the needs and needs of others and empathy towards others are important issues for us to Ambire. And today as never before, in an increasingly digital world, people look for real contacts and sincere interactions. Active listening is the key to working a team as a whole and to achieving common goals by overcoming, together, every difficulty. These skills, which are cultivated maintaining an altruistic view of the world, are increasingly sought after and it is they who make the difference in every field of action: from relationships with colleagues to those with superiors, from customers to business partnerships.
