Some principles:

  1. An organization:
  • is a system open to the environment that surrounds it
  • suits its environment
  • contains interrelated subsystems
  1. All the variables involved (strategy, structure, processes, technology, human resources) are interdependent
  2. Management’s challenge is to achieve good integration between subsystems

Purpose of interventions:

  • to strengthen the effectiveness, the efficiency and the development of the organization
  • to facilitate the identification, for each organization, of an operating model and a culture of its components

Some theories of reference:

  • general theory of systems (L. Von Bertalanfly)
  • systems theory applied to organizations: situational approach (T. Burns, G.m. Stalker, H. Mintzberg) and integrated (T. Peters, r. Waterman)
